LAPIMA was founded in 2016 by Gisela and Gustavo Assis. Their frames are a reflection of features and colors of Brazil’s landscapes. Each of their frames are handmade utilizing both state-of-the-art machinery and handmade craftsmanship. The final products are refined pieces that play with volume, light, and shadow.

02 for the city - vada
VADA is a fine jewelry & eyewear line founded in 2013 by Katie Caplener. Based in Austin, Texas, their eyewear has quickly become a favorite of celebrities and eyewear collectors alike. While their eyewear is designed in Texas, all VADA frames are handmade in Japan using traditional, time-honored techniques, utilizing the finest cellulose acetate, with all custom tooling and unique frame shapes.

03 FOR THE MOUNTAINS - DISTRICT VISION
District Vision has a unique focus on developing tools for mindful athletes, creating eyewear that's equally function-first and performance enhancing. They began making eyewear in 2013, testing in small batches with runners and athletes.Â
Their focus on creating performance Japanese engineered eyewear makes them the perfect choice for hiking and trail running for a trip to the mountains. 04 for all around - jacques marie mageÂ
It's no secret that we here at Black Optical are big fans of Jacques Marie Mage. Founded in 2015 in L.A., the brand has built a cult following by creating classic, yet, unique frames featuring a quality surpassed only by their designs.
Each of their frames take approximately 18-months to produce, and it shows in the quality and finish of their eyewear.
