Caring for gemstones: For hard gemstones like amethyst, aquamarine, blue topaz, quartz, and ruby, use warm soapy water and a brush, then gently dry with a soft cloth. For soft, porous gemstones such as pearls, opals, emeralds, amber, coral, onyx, garnet, and jade, avoid water to prevent discoloration.
