THE DAILY GRIND

It’s hard to convince anyone that drinking hot coffee is a good idea during the peak heat of summer months. Luckily it’s as easy as adding ice to your morning coffee routine; here’s how.

Grab all the necessary equipment. Most importantly- coffee. For this recipe we are using a Kalita Wave, a scale, grinder, Hario server, eyeglasses, and Black Optical’s very own roast from Topeca Coffee in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Recipe:
Coffee: 25 grams
Water: 250 grams
Ice: 250 grams
Brew time: 3:00

1. Place filter in your Kalita wave then Pre-wet filter and dump out water from container. Add 250 grams of ice.
2. Add coffee to filter and pour 25-50 grams of water. Let bloom for 30 seconds.
3. Pour water slowly in circular motion up to 150 grams and let sit for 30 seconds.
4. Pour remaining water in a circular motion up to 250 grams.
5. Let the wave drain.
6. Enjoy!
