SALT Optics // Elle

It amazes me how much SALT has grow in the 2 years I’ve carryed them. When I first picked up the brand they made just a handfull of sunglasses styles and I could count the number of opticals on one hand. Now I find it completely difficult to edit the collection small enough that I don’t come across as a SALT store.
The Acadia (pictured above) is destined to become a classic. The rich toffee-tortoise layered with hot pink and a sliver of ivory has to be one of the richness and most original frame colors on the market. The shape is slightly rounded and really refined, so that it compliments almost every woman’s face shapes while retaining their individuality. But since the sunglass is above the current fads, it’s not something you will see on every face around town.
SALT OSLO // Marie Claire

The ‘Oslo’ by SALT. Optics has to be one of the most versatile eyeglasses. Originally designed as a guy’s eyeglass, they reinvent themselves on a girl. I’ve even turned them into sunglasses for a couple of our clients, creating a hipper, cooler cousin to the standard-issue wayfarer. The Oslo has been around for a couple seasons, but it is fantastic that it still receives loads of press, proving that SALT truly designs a timeless collection each season. Purchase or have a closer look here.
TREND REPORT – Crystal Fade
Over the last couple weeks quite a few crystal fade eyeglasses have been out and about. Above, Band of Outsider’s Scott Sternberg is wearing a great example that resembles the SALT. Adler.

SALT. x Hugh Jackman
A couple weeks ago I posted a photo for Hugh Jackman wearing the SALT. ‘Schroeder’. I shared that photo with Rachael of SALT. Afterword she informed me that Hugh is an avid fan of SALT. sunglasses. The photo above is proof-positive that he loves SALT.
In this shot he is wearing the ‘Nicolas’ in Traditional Silver w/Brown Polarized lenses. The frame is titanium and the lenses are polarized glass.
SALT. 09 – Collection One
SALT.’s 2009 Collection One is proof of their commitment to being the best premium independent optical brand. The use of interesting elements and thoughtful accents define SALT.’s aesthetic, and rich organic colors provide the ultimate palette. This collection features 19 styles in exclusive acetate colors, featherweight titanium or a combination of both materials. The 3 sunglasses feature timeless styling and their signature [PFV] Polarized lens technology for the ultimate optical experience. The new collection is now available through the webstore and our retail location.
The eyeglasses/sunglass pictured above are Lycett, Booney, Penny and Flannery.
Hugh Jackman X SALT.
I wonder what Hugh Jackman likes best about his SALT. sunglasses, the great polarized lenses or the incredible fit? My guess would be both. The SALT. Schroeder is a mainstay at Black Optical (I personally wear this sunglass). It is great to see a celebrities wearing sunglasses sans logo. And it is even better watching a brand grow organically by designing premium products and not relying on logos to sell sunglasses. SALT. is one of the rare brands that continually exceed expectations with each collection.
